There is no one home but us chickens!

Over the past few weeks the children have watched as three eggs hatched producing three lovely little chicks and then growing to become proper chickens. The chickens have now moved from the nursery into their own henhouse.

Recreate

Recently we received a prize for all our work in getting a Green Flag for our school. The prize consisted of a visit by artist Karen McArdle. Karen is a fabric and textile artist and she did sessions with 60 of the children using recycled materials. The children enjoyed printing weaving cutting sticking and painting. They really enjoyed this. Here are some pictures.

St. Patrick's Celebrations

We had our St Patrick's Parade on Friday (13 March). The children really enjoyed this and plenty of parents joined us or stood out to watch. Thank you so much! The children had some treats afterwards and parents came in for a cup of tea and a biscuit. Thanks for any sponsorship. It really is appreciated and will go toward play equipment for the children.
Later on the children all did some céilí dancing in the school yard.
Here are some pictures of the infant classes.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day

Ice-cream Day - 28th May 2014

We had such a lovely treat today.  It was Ice-Cream Day and everyone brought in 2euro to raise money for Down Syndrome Ireland. All the boys and girls had ice-cream and wafers for breakfast.  What a delicious way to start the day, and what a fun way to raise money. We raised over 300euro for Down Syndrome Ireland.  Well done everybody!

Here are some photos of the children enjoying the delicious ice-cream.
